Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding is a British artist and singer. She was born Elena Jane Goulding on 30 December 1986 in Hereford. Ellie Goulding's infectious electronic sound rapidly pushed her into the top charts once she drew the attention of the public in the year 2010. She was able to accomplish this through the singles "Starry Eyed" and "Guns and Horses". Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. With her distinctive soprano voice and knack for composing catchy yet emotionally earnest songs, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap has a place at the cutting edge of contemporary mainstream music and artistic, non-conformist pop.Goulding quickly moved from the blogosphere to print media, gaining praise from mainstream publications like The Guardian and fielding offers from record companies. Polydor Records eventually signed Goulding to a major record deal. The album she released was scheduled for release.
